IN
SPRING 2000, RIVIER DRAMA STAGED
"THE SONG OF MARK"
After spending a decade and a half doing no drama whatsoever, I decided
to jump back onstage as Jesus in "The Song Of Mark", as well as taking
on the role of musical director. There were going to be lots of kids in
the
show, so I didn't really know what to expect. I figured with all my
experience performing and singing with my band, I'd be able to show
these folks a thing or two. However, walking in to the rehearsal area
the first day cured me of such notions, and taught me a life lesson
about underestimation. I saw a piano with girls from the school
gathered around playing and singing in perfect three-part harmony. They
were doing parts that they had just started to look at that day!! I
knew I would have to work my ass off just to keep up. It was a great
experience, and it awoke a love for acting that had been dormant since
I was the age of these kids that were now inspiring me.

A clip of a duet with Teresa
Cam. Unbelievably,
she was in Grade 9 at the time. What a voice.

Timi
Aganape (shown with her little sister) has a speaking voice that is
just
as incredible as her singing voice.

My
favorite song from the show, "Walk On". |
