Hey,
welcome to my page! I want it to be a repository for all the
artistic stuff I get involved with. Basically, this page (the MAIN
page) works like a blog of sorts. Everything new that's going on in my
life gets chucked on here and then the menu on the left has stuff
divided more into categories. Ok, so there.
A
blast from the past - me as Jesus in the 2005 ShortStuff production of
Jesus Christ Superstar.
My
jam band Bridges Of Light
playing our song "Ocean Of
Consciousness". We
filmed this in our rehearsal space plus in the back yard. It's the
fifth song that we've recorded together over the past month, and we're
having lots of fun.
Me
and Idle Thoughts (and our friend Barry on keys) played the End Of
Winter Blues Festival - even though we're not normally a blues band. On
the other hand
we do drink a lot...so I guess that's something.
There's
a wee bit of controversy over a letter to the editor with my name on it
that appeared in the February 28, 2008 edition of the Prince Albert
Daily Herald. Basically, I was involved in an online discussion on the
Herald's message board regarding whether we should fear Islamic
extremists more than Islamic moderates. The full text of my
post is here if you're interested.
Things got sticky when the editor of the paper decided to cut and paste
a few lines of my post and publish it in the actual newspaper
as a "letter to the editor", which it was in no way intended to be. It
is taken out of context because it was originally part of a longer
discussion. To be perfectly clear, there's nothing in the short version
that I don't believe or agree with fully (they are my
words after all), but it's not the type of thing I would just plunk
myself down and write and send off to the Daily Herald. I'd like to
think I wouldn't be that crass.
Anyway, that's the story of that.
I
had a fabulous time in "Last Of The Red Hot Lovers". I would like to
thank our director Robert Loucks, my three lovely co-stars; Randi
Miller, Adreanna Boucher, and Lori Belyea. Many thanks also to Odyssey
Productions, and of
course the theatre-goers of Prince Albert who made the show into a
financial success as well as a lot of fun!
My son Chris and I
write and record music under the name The Tookins. Here's a video from
last summer.
A video of my band
Idle Thoughts, playing on the steps of City Hall in Prince Albert. It's
a new song we wrote called "Long Road North"
And another Tookins
vid - rocking out in our basement!
Part One of my trip
to New York to audition for the touring production of ANNIE.
Part Two of the same
New York trip.
The demo reel I made
for the audition - bits from the Broadway North production of ANNIE - December 2006, EA
Rawlinson Centre, Prince Albert, SK.
A clip from a feature
Shaw Cable did on Midsummer Night's Dream, in which I played Bottom.
Looking for a different
Jason Moon? There's lots of us out there. Check it out.
